What the matcher does
Each questionnaire identifies a product profile from a small set of disclosed variables: time horizon, repayment behavior, liquidity, access needs, fee tolerance and capacity for risk. It does not rank issuers or transmit an application.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not use income, protected characteristics or hidden behavioral data to claim eligibility. It does not guarantee approval, savings, coverage or suitability. Product terms change and a short questionnaire cannot replace reading the contract.
How to use a result
Treat the result as a shortlist specification. Collect current disclosures from several providers, compare like with like, verify licensing or deposit insurance where relevant, and ask a qualified professional when a decision depends on tax, legal or personal financial circumstances.
Quality gate
- Every page must answer a distinct user decision.
- Titles, H1s and page purpose must agree.
- Calculations expose their assumptions.
- Commercial relationships never change the questionnaire result.
- Imported content is scheduled slowly and reviewed before indexing.
How variables become a product profile
We use simple decision rules that can be explained on the result screen. A mortgage result weighs time horizon, cash remaining after closing and tolerance for payment changes. A card result puts repayment behavior ahead of rewards. Insurance begins with the loss a household cannot absorb. Bank-account matching begins with money movement, then compares fees and yield at a typical balance.
Why there is no universal score
A single score would hide value judgments. Stable payments, flexible access and lower upfront cost can each be reasonable priorities, but they are not interchangeable. The matcher therefore returns a profile and checklist instead of claiming mathematical certainty.
How commercial influence is separated
The rules are written around product characteristics rather than issuer names. A commercial relationship cannot change an answer, remove a disadvantage or guarantee placement. If specific offers are later shown, their current terms and compensation disclosures must sit outside the matching logic.
How we maintain the method
Material rule changes and source updates trigger review. Imported articles enter a paced queue and must pass the same title, sourcing, usefulness and duplication checks described in the editorial policy.
Example of an explainable result
A card user who regularly carries a balance is directed toward borrowing cost before rewards. That result comes from a visible rule: likely interest can overwhelm ordinary reward value. If the same user later pays every statement in full, the relevant comparison can shift to fees and usable rewards. The tool does not hide either judgment inside a universal score.
When we refuse precision
We do not estimate approval probability, quote a rate we cannot verify, value a reward without a redemption assumption or declare insurance coverage without contract language. A useful range or checklist is more honest than a confident number built from missing facts.
How pages connect
The matcher defines the shortlist, the topic center supplies the complete path, and the guide handles one calculation or tradeoff. The final step always returns to the provider's current disclosure. This structure gives every page a distinct job and prevents several URLs from competing to answer the same question.
Use the financial product matching method
The financial product matching method has three steps. First, choose a matcher and state your constraints. Next, use the relevant decision guide to understand the tradeoff. Last, run a calculator or worksheet and check the result against a current provider document.
| Step | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Match | Time, cash, access and risk | A product profile |
| 2. Learn | The choice you need to make | A comparison rule |
| 3. Verify | Current rates, fees and contract terms | A documented decision |
Why the method stays explainable
RIGHT.you matches financial products with visible rules. A reader can see which answer changed the result and which new fact would change it again.
