Accuracy for financial decisions
Financial information can affect a reader's stability. We prefer regulators, government programs, statutory material and provider disclosures for product terms. We label examples and never present illustrative numbers as market quotes.
Original value
A page must add a useful framework, calculation, comparison, checklist or functional tool. Rewriting another page is not enough. We do not publish location-swapped, keyword-swapped or otherwise mass-produced variants.
AI and automation
Automation may assist drafting, formatting and intake. It is not a substitute for editorial review. An imported article cannot enter the publication schedule without an approved status, a named reviewer and a review date. Intake also checks heading structure, descriptive links, an external evidence source and fit with this site's scope.
Independence and corrections
Compensation may support the site, but it does not buy a favorable editorial conclusion. Material corrections are made promptly. Readers can report an error through the contact page and should include the page URL and source.
Source hierarchy
For U.S. consumer finance topics, we prefer regulators and official programs such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, FDIC, NCUA and state or national insurance regulators. Provider disclosures can establish a provider's own terms. Secondary explanations may add context but do not replace a primary source for a material rule.
Dates and meaningful updates
Publication and modification dates must describe the public content, not the day a draft entered the database. A page receives a new modification date only when its facts, method, examples or user guidance change materially.
Corrections process
A correction request should identify the URL, exact statement and supporting evidence. We assess potential financial harm first. When a correction changes the meaning of a page, we update the page content and its modification date rather than silently refreshing every date.
Link and review standards
Anchor text must name the destination accurately. Paid links must be disclosed and qualified appropriately. We do not publish fabricated reviews, star ratings, product tests, statistics or expert endorsements. See how RIGHT.you makes money for the commercial boundary.
Pre-publication review
Before a financial guide is indexable, we check that its title, H1 and direct answer describe the same decision; material claims have an appropriate source; examples are labeled; formulas expose their inputs; and internal links describe their destination accurately. We also compare the draft with existing pages so a new URL is not a thin variation.
Review triggers
A page is reviewed when a linked regulator changes its guidance, a rule or standard limit changes, a calculator assumption changes, a reader identifies a material error or a provider document used by the method is redesigned. Cosmetic edits do not receive a false freshness date.
Advertising quality boundary
Advertising may not interrupt a calculation, imitate navigation or appear as a matcher answer. We do not expand an article merely to create more ad placements. If commercial pressure conflicts with a clear explanation of cost or risk, the explanation takes priority.
Financial editorial policy checklist
This financial editorial policy applies before publication and during later reviews. The editorial policy requires a clear purpose, a useful answer and evidence that fits the claim.
- The title, H1 and short answer describe the same decision.
- Important financial claims point to a current primary source.
- Examples are labeled and do not pretend to be live market quotes.
- Internal links help the reader take a relevant next step.
- Corrections change the page when new evidence changes the answer.
| Check | Pass condition | Reader benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Source | The link supports the exact claim | The rule can be verified |
| Example | Inputs and limits are visible | The math can be repeated |
| Review | A material change triggers an update | The page does not fake freshness |
